So the other day a friend of mine told me that Arleigh told her daughter that, “Obama lies.” Pretty vague. I sort of felt the need to apologize. Then I started rethinking my stance. I’ve never been shy with my political leanings but I try to leave them off the blog. My skin isn’t that thick. I don’t want to read over the comments in my head instead of sleeping tonight.
Here’s what I’ll tell you… I believe in small government, not big government. I worry about government spending and how is effects our military lives. I don’t particularly want the government telling my family what to do. I’m going to leave it at that or this might turn into a soap box diatribe sort of deal and that’s not what I want to do.
Here’s to the good stuff. I ask Arleigh, “Why did you tell your friend that Obama lies?” Remember, she just turned 8. This is her answer…
“I guess I could be confusing things Mama, but I really don’t think he is following the tax plan he said he would when he was running. I’ve studied citizenship and I am supposed to know what’s happening.”
Lest you think I’m ruining her mind with all Fox news all the time… I’ll admit their evening show is one of my top picks but not one we watch with the kids. She garnered all her information from Matt Lauer and the Today Show which is her Grandma’s news program of choice. I also heard her say this week, “Michael Jackson was great, but come on! Where’s the news?”
That’s my girl!
